There are so many money making schemes on the internet, in the newspaper, on handwritten signs as you drive to the store, and on the radio. The truth is no millionaire is giving away his secret; someone is selling you a secret so they can make money. Many of us chase these money making ideas so long that we forget how real wealth is made. By working hard over a long period of time and spending less than you make. The truth of wealth isn’t any harder than that.
This doesn’t mean you have work for a single company forever. You just have to remember the income comes from providing value. If you can’t see why anyone would pay money for an idea than you shouldn’t be putting your time or money into it. Those who work their jobs with the idea of providing value in mind are much more like to receive raises, promotions, and have new opportunities open up to them. This has nothing to do with faith or “The Secret” mental games; it’s just simple cause and effect. Those who want more in life will seek out those who provide the most value. The only way people know you provide value is by actually providing value. We have all had enough promises. Every commercial promises you the world. The only one you buy again is the one that didn’t something great for you. Tricked for money only happens once. It’s not a great long term plan.
So go ahead and try sending $50 to 10 people on a list or even learn the stock market. But neither will do you any good until you understand what good those are doing for someone else and why you should earn money from doing it. Changing your mindset from a “I deserve it” mentality to a “I earn it” mentality is the greatest wealth building tool anyone has available to them.
