Electric Treadmills – The Fitness Staple

by Flemin on June 29, 2010

Electric treadmills are a great piece of fitness equipment to own. What is great about these treadmills is that they are electric and turn on when the power button is pushed. Users can select the level, incline, and speed that they wish to use when walking or jogging on the treadmill. Manual treadmills do not push users as much. These machines often fold up and can be easily placed in a closet or other small space.

Electric treadmills are great for families because anyone old or young can enjoy using it. Working out this way burns a lot of calories because users have to keep up with the pace that the machine is set to. On a manual treadmill, the user sets the pace which does not challenge people enough and burn a lot of calories. If people exercise the same way every single day then the body begins to burn fewer calories over time due to it becoming too routine. This does not happen as often with electric machines because people can adjust the settings to fit their mood and workout goals for the day or week.

If users set it up in a single room, then people can exercise in peace and quiet which is beneficial to many people. It can be intimidating for some people to exercise when they are surrounded by other people. By being able to exercise when alone on a treadmill, people can stay fit and feel comfortable in their own environment. User can put the machine in a bedroom, basement, utility room, or other room where it is highly visible and will entice the owner to stay motivated to exercise often.

Electric treadmills are great for amateur or much more experienced athletes. They can hold up to two hundred and fifty pounds and can accommodate many demographics of people. Owning one is very beneficial and helps strengthen the legs, heart, lungs, and other body systems. By jogging on the machine, people can lose weight, stay healthy and reduce their risk of heart attack and stroke.
