I really enjoy wearing my contact lenses. I had worn glasses for a while and, although they look good on me, I’d much rather have the freedom that contact lenses provide. But aside from just not having the frames of your glasses on your face, many people want to go a step further and change the color of their eyes. This is done with colored contact lenses, which are now very popular and easily available.
The big question, though, is can you get colored contacts without prescription? There are many people out there with good vision that do not need to wear glasses or get any kind of corrective lenses and they are wondering if they need to see an eye doctor in order to get a pair of colored contact lenses.
By law, you will need to get a prescription for them even if you do not need vision correction. Contacts are considered to be medical devices and so to wear them, you will need to go see an eye doctor. The great thing is that doing this is not really a big deal at all. You simply call for an appointment and tell them that you are interested in getting fitted for some non prescription colored contacts and they will take care of you.
Most people will choose to go to a place at the mall or an optical department at a near by department store. They can help you and will do a good job getting you fitted for colored contact lenses. The price for an appointment is reasonable, too.
Another great thing is that you’ll get to choose from a lot of great colors. You can either choose to enhance your natural eye color or else completely block it out and choose a new color. If you want to have a lighter eye color, then you will want to look at what are called opaque contact lenses. Those are the ones that totally change your eye color.
People that have darker skin seem to be choosing green colored contact lenses. Others will want to get blue or gray lenses. It’s up to you and you may even want to try several different colors to see what looks the best. Ask your friends what they think and maybe even try them out when you go out on the town and see what kinds of looks you get! It should be fun!
