Have you ever had one of those fiberboard storage cabinets? I have and while it served its purpose, it fell apart when a rainstorm had flooded the garage. The bottom disintegrated into little pieces like crackers that had soaked up too much soup. Needless to say, I had to find a replacement for the storage cabinet so off I went to the nearest Home Depot to look at what I could get to replace the broken cabinets with.
I went down the isles that had the models of fiberboard cabinets because I thought I would replace the ones that had fallen apart. I just happened to look between the isles and out of the corner of my eye, caught the back of a plastic full height storage cabinet. My curiosity caught up with me and I had to go over and take a look at it.
I have to say that I was impressed with the construction and the size of the plastic was larger than most of the cabinets you can make with the fiberboard. What is really neat is you can get shelving and even a plastic storage drawer cabinet that fits inside and locks into place. The reinforcement across the middle and thickness of the plastic throughout made it look like it could take years of abuse and still hold up nicely. The price was just a little more expensive than the fiberboard and I felt I was getting a deal because the plastic model was larger in size.
The unit is easy to put together and has some reinforcing features to really stiffen it up and once it is complete, you can expect it to hold the same amount of storage you would expect to be able to put into any other comparably sized unit. If it should ever get wet, I know this unit will just dry off and will be good to go. It is great to know the belongings in the garage will be safe and secure inside of these plastic storage cabinets.
