What You Should Expect To Pay for A Good Traffic Attorney

by Flemin on July 20, 2010

Here’s the thing, in a perfect world, we would never need a traffic attorney for help. In a perfect world the cops wouldn’t arbitrarily pick one car out of a crowd that is going the same speed and cite them with a traffic infraction. And in a perfect world you wouldn’t need to worry about your car insurance rates because they’d always remain low.

But we don’t live in a perfect world.

Because of our imperfections, from time to time we may need to call on the services of a traffic lawyer to help us out of a jam. Sometimes the fine is ridiculously high, sometimes our employer is breathing down our throat to keep a good driving record, and sometimes we’re worried about paying astronomical insurance rates. Whatever the reason, just because you need a traffic attorney doesn’t mean you should pay an arm and a leg for them. So, here’s a little bit of information about pricing.

And let me tell you how I know about pricing. I am a traffic attorney in Seattle. I’ve represented hundreds of people on traffic infractions. I know what I charge, and I know what others charge. And I know what you should pay.

Here’s the thing about traffic ticket defense – it’s not that hard to do once you’ve learned it, but it can take a while to learn. That means the people out there that know what they are doing really do have a specialized set of tools at their disposal – tools you are going to have to pay for.

But, as with any services you purchase, beware the extremely cheap service provider – often you are getting what you pay for. If the person you contact says they can do it far cheaper than everyone else, they are probably trying to get you signed up so they can get in there and lose as quickly as possible.

The price for a decent traffic lawyer in Seattle is going to be at a minimum of $250. I know some people who charge upwards of $400, but they’ve been doing it forever (even though, honestly, they aren’t any better than the guys at $250). So there you go, the price of a good traffic attorney.
