The Many Uses For A Pop Up Gazebo

by Flemin on May 20, 2010

The pop up gazebo is a very versatile piece of outdoor gear.  It can function as a way to get out of the sun or the rain, and has a wide range of places and ways in which it can be used.

The first, and probably most obvious use, is outdoor eating on a nice summer day.  As much as we all love a warm and sunny day, spending large amounts of time out in direct sunlight is not recommended due to exposing the skin to UV rays.  You still want to enjoy the outdoors though, so popping up the gazebo is a great way to have a picnic or party in your back yard while avoiding constant direct sun.  It will also be useful if it begins raining, though if the wind picks up, you’re out of luck because a gazebo usually has no walls.

Secondly, a gazebo can be used at multi-day festivals, and other outdoor camping events.  A pop-up gazebo provides a great sheltered entry way for your tent, and a place to eat in shelter, and are preferred to rigging up a tarp because they are much easier to set up.  They are the perfect place to set up a folding table and play cards, or simply hang out with your friends at the festival.  If you want, you can even forgo the tent, and sleep in the open air, under the gazebo in case of rain.

Finally, a pop up gazebo can be used as shelter while gardening.  Real gardening can be a back-breaking task requiring hours of attention every week.  Add a sunburn to that and you’re really going to be hurting.  You can shelter your garden with a pop up gazebo while you work, and then remove it when you’re done so you’re not blocking your gardens daily sunlight.  If your garden is too large to fit under your gazebo, it’s all right, because it’s light enough that you can simply shift it around as needed.

There are almost infinite uses for the versatile and portable covering that a pop up gazebo provides.  They vary in size and cost, and you can typically pick up a 10×10 pop up for under a hundred dollars on Amazon and it’s well worth that investment.
