Initial Thoughts On Wedding Centerpieces

by Flemin on January 14, 2010

There is so much to think about for a couple who are planning a wedding day. There are the usual items such as the location of the wedding, the location of the reception, the wedding dress, the suit for the groom, the wedding rings, etc. But sometimes smaller things about the wedding can be forgotten. These less obvious things include the wedding centerpieces, as well as the place settings or the wedding cake topper. Centerpieces for wedding tables are one of the things that set off the whole occasion so should really be given prominence in the planning for the big day. If they are done right, they will not only blend in with the overall wedding theme and color scheme, but they will add that touch of panache and class to the occasion.

In the past, there was just the old-fashioned standard wedding. This involved first going to the church for the ceremony and then moving somewhere else for the reception afterwards. Today, people are becoming more and more adventurous. This means that the wedding centerpiece must follow suit. So if you are having your wedding in an unusual location, you should make sure that your centerpiece is designed to blend in with that theme.

As well as to the design of your centerpieces, you should give thought to where they you will put them – strategically around the room is usually best. They can be made in various different sizes to fit different locations. For instance, every table should have one; meaning that there would be a wedding centerpiece on the head table, one on the guestbook table, one on the table of every guest and one on the wedding cake table. Each centerpiece should be appropriate for the location, so you don’t want one sitting on a guest table which not only hinders their personal space but also hinders good conversation. Wedding centerpieces should blend in with their surroundings and not stand out.
