Bandeau Tube Bra

by Flemin on July 14, 2010

Similar in concept to the standard strapless bra, the Bandeau tube bra is worlds apart from the old fashioned tube top we from the seventies grew up with.  The Bandeau tube bra is so much more comfortable and combines the fashion and comfort of a tube top with the support of a strapless bra.  It is perfect to wear under a loose blouse without it actually looking like underwear. It is becoming a popular choice for nursing moms as well with its stretchiness and practical use.

Most Bandeau tube bras are made with Lyrca but some can have hooks that fasten in the back. Some come with removable cups, and underwire and some have a notch in the middle to center the breasts.  Unlike shopping for a traditional bra, a tube bra is easy to buy as you can go online and without too much worry pick out which Bandeau bra you want.

Bandeau tube bras can cover just the breast area like a traditional tube top or are made to fit almost like a camisole and even have straps that crisscross in the back.  As with any delicate under garment, Bandeaus should be hand washed in cold water and hung out to dry.  This extends the life of the bra.  Being made of mostly Lycra, they can lose their shape over time especially when made without any underwire to hold the form.

The Bandeau tube bra is a wonderfully comfortable option for women with larger breasts who struggle with strap and back pain.  They also prevent ugly body bulges that traditional bras can cause.  They can be worn with a variety of type of shirts and dresses and with all the choices of patterns; you can actually choose a bra that can add fashion sense to your outfit and not just be a garment that gets hidden.
