When you think about womens jewelry titanium is probably not the first precious metal that comes to mind. This is a material that we are likely to imagine for mens rings or maybe even something that is mainly used in the aerospace industry.
Maybe you are not even aware that titanium engagement rings, solitaire rings and wedding bands are available, but they are. And they are becoming more popular as more of us realize their advatages compared to the other rings on the market. The first thing you will want to do if you need convincing that buying titanium jewelry is to take a look at the promise rings that are out there on the Internet. What about a ring with purple grooved accents set with a sapphire. What about beautiful colored friendship rings for yourself or a special friend, or a celtic design that you won’t see anyone else wearing? You will find just about any design you want in titanium, for whatever need to you, whether its for waering out, a wedding ring of a gift for someones Christmas.
Titanium has many advantages which makes it a great choice for jewelry, and rings in particular. Its a hypoallegenic metal which means even those of us with extremely sensitive skin can wear it with fear of getting a rash.
Also, its a metal that is extremely light, making is very comfortable to wear. People who are not used to wearing jewelry and aren’t interested in such things can put on a womens titanium ring and forget they have it after a couple of hours. The thing I particularly like about titanium rings is the fact that they are so durable. I have seen titanium rings that have been worn by those who do a hard physical work whose ring looks as good after a decade of hard use. Titanium is stronger than anything else you can find, where gold or silver will get scratched titanium will be unmarked. Being a titanium ring is an investment that will last you a lifetime.

Titanium has a relative hardness in relation to scratching on the Moh’s scale of 6.5 which makes it relatively scratchable, but harder than gold (5.5), palladium (5.25) and platinum (4.5). Most titanium tends to be brush finished as it permits an easy way of masking the scratching associated with titanium. Rarely do titanium pieces hold more than one stone (a diamond), largely because of the tactile strength required to set a diamond within a ring or pendant (something like 20,000 lbs if i recall correctly). Titanium is probably the least expensive material available in gents rings aside from maybe stainless steel. It’s a pretty solid choice for the guy who tends to beat his ring up mercilessly or tends to lose everything, but it has a very small market in the female jewelry business.
