Getting Your Feet Looking Good in Sandals

by Flemin on July 12, 2010

Every woman looks forward to sandal season. There is more variety in footwear in the summer than in any other time of the year. However, if your feet aren’t looking too pretty, you may be dreading putting on those gorgeous classified shoes sandals.

People can get cracked feet for a variety of reasons, but the results are always the same. They are hard to cure and don’t look attractive in sandals. It can be a larger problem in the summer since the cracks develop over harsh, cold winters. Cracked feet are also often harder on people in dry climates. For some people, like those with diabetes, a doctor’s consultation is what is needed. For others, there are steps you can take at home.

First, you’ll want some sort of callous remover. A pumice stone has been a popular option for centuries. Recently, more products have come out, like the PedEgg. They all work well, some are just more vigorous than others. These will peel off the dry skin on your feet, leaving the healthy skin, which will be smooth and soft. For best results, use them right after you come out of the shower. The steam and moisture from the shower will loosen up the skin that you are trying to get rid off.

Each day, after you use the callous remover of your choice, you’ll want to apply a moisturizer or foot balm. This will help strengthen the skin cells in your feet, as well as keeping them soft. You will only use the callous remover for a few weeks, until you get your desired results. However, for the best results, you should continue to apply the moisturizer every day. This will make it so that you don’t have the same problem next summer. Now that you have your feet looking the way you want, you can go ahead and grab that pair of classified shoes.
